Prosser & Co are a small-town, family-owned and operated business with big dreams. We specialize in jewellery manufacturing, design and repair as well as watch battery replacements, service and repair. Our roots are in Port Pirie, a small city port in the Mid North of South Australia, where we transform precious metals, gemstones and diamonds into heirloom jewellery pieces that capture the eye and the imagination.
My own love for jewellery started in my childhood. At the age of 8, when most of my friends dreamt of being doctors, firefighters or police officers, I confidently told my parents that I would be a jeweller one day when I was grown up. While I was too young to enrol in silversmithing classes, I signed up for lapidary classes at my local gem and mineral club. While learning to enhance the shine and allure of precious stones through intricate cuts and designs, I discovered a passion for gemstones that would last for the rest of my life. I continued to complete as many supplementary training courses I could over the course of my childhood until I became a teenager and felt ready to embark on my trade.

Meet the Team
The official start of my career was in December of the year 2000, when I began working as an apprentice in a jewellery store called Kensen & Kensen Jewellers. In this position, I was fortunate to hone my craft under the expert tutelage of master jeweller Craig Kensen. I embarked on my first venture into business in 2012, when I collaborated with a partner to launch Leading Edge Jewellers Port Pirie. Seven years later, I finally felt ready to take the leap and go into business on my own. I launched Prosser & Co. with 20 years of experience and a dream - and I haven’t looked back since!
I am fortunate to attribute the success of my business to the close involvement of my family, who have stood by me in support and service since the very beginning. My wife, Shannon, works alongside me in the shop as Sales Assistant and Social Media Manager, while my mother Judith can always be relied on to lend a hand in the shop on busy days. My father, Garry, does the books and ensures that all our T’s are crossed and our I’s dotted. Together, we are building on the dream that has been with me since I was a young boy.
